Photo Every Day: March 23rd - May 1st 2021

It's that spring season tradition...time for photo everyday again. Day 1. Planted some warm-weather seeds today (melons, squash, tomatoes) (March 23rd)

Day 2. Planted some pepper seeds. Weather has been really dry. Recently I've been harvesting onions & drying the greens, I ground some mint into tea, & now I'm making granny squares (March 24th)

Day 4. Went into work today so I only had a brief moment before the sunset. Anyway, here's the hillside. 1 year at this house and I still adore the views. (March 26th)

Day 6. Did my taxes this evening & did some gardening this morning. Mulched the front garden bed with grass clippings. (March 28th)

Day 7. Today I saw that the cat who lives on our roof is not only pregnant but seems to have a large infection on her head. She is very feral but we would like to try to trap her so we can get her some veterinary attention. For now I will hope she will be ok. (March 29th)

Day 10. I keep thinking it's Friday. I was really looking forward to gardening all day tomorrow but I suppose I will settle for a little lunchbreak garden sesh. (April 1st)

Day 11. Cute lil bee on some arugula flowers. Saw that this bee seemed to only come in from the side of the flower like we see in the photo, not the top. (April 2nd)

Day 5. What a beautiful spring day. I did loads of gardening, picked some of the first peas from the garden, and spotted this huge cluster of mushrooms popping up from the mulch. (March 27th)

Day 8. Long day at work. Pretty tired. Can't think of anything of note for today :/ (March 30th)

Day 3. Couldn't pick between these two. This cute lil burb is always in our tree, at least in recent months. Bought some books for research for my novel including terraforming & birding. I might try to get into birding (March 25th)

Day 9. I was very tired today. After work I made a delicious pasta using dried tomatoes from last summer, fresh chard from the garden, and a homegrown onion (March 31st)

Day 15. A photo from right when I got home. Spent very little time in the garden after work but I did see that cats shat on a few of my seedlings I'd planted out yesterday. I should really only plant out LARGE seedlings I guess. (April 6th)

Day 12. Got my first vaccine dose today - super rad. And I've set a trap for that stray cat with the infection. Hoping she'll survive. 🤞 (April 3rd)

Day 13. Well, we caught a stray but it was a male cat, not the pregnant miss we were hoping for. Because it was Easter and nowhere was open, we let him go. Trap is set again tonight. (April 4th)

Day 14. So we caught a possum. It would've beena great photo subject except for the fact that it was bedtime and the poor guy was waiting. But I quite like this bee photo (head buried in cauliflower flowers) (April 5th)

Day 21. Here's a vase on our built-in. In life news, we got a grill! We've been experiencing that grilling lifestyle recently which has been *chef kiss*

Day 22. This was taken with my phone in the morning before work. It's a towel I used to clean our outdoor workbench. I'd gone on a cleaning flurry in the desperate hope that we might have people over soon.

Day 16. Last week became a bit of a blur because I'd been so tired. I don't know why but I've been waking up early in the morning and have been unable to get good rest. Anyway, finally edited all the recent photos today. Haven't stopped taking photos each day. Roses across the yard are all about to burst!

Day 17. I was planting a few fruit tree seedlings and noticed this lovely view: the arugula, mustard, and pea flowers illuminated by the setting sun, hills behind. Such a beautiful place to live.

Day 18. The nicotiana went crazy with flowers recently. Just today I also noticed the tree mallow in the front yard began to bloom. So many white flowers upcoming.

Day 19. This stubborn stray cat has evaded the traps. Fortunately she seems to have recovered from her infection, but she remains quite pregnant. I had never noticed that nice line of trees in the distance until I took this photo.

Day 20. I'd gotten like dead tired for the last week or so so I stopped editing my photos everyday. But...I didn't stop taking them! I do like being able to look at the captions for some sort of daily log but the images themselves will have to do for the next several posts.

Day 23 Roses have been in full bloom recently. It's been lovely.

Day 24. Another cell phone photo from the morning before work when I take Clover out. I just love it.

Day 25. Here's a fly!

Day 26. My garden has some pests...but also these lil cuties. Sometimes it's nice just to look around at all the different critters. This scene unfolding on my fava beans.

Day 27. Mustard is going to seed. These lil guys were planted in my flower bed. I'm hoping I'll have a sea similar to the arugula I've got all over the yard now.

Day 28. Strawberry blossoms! I am so excited for all the delicious things coming soon from the garden. I harvested my 3rd artichoke today.
